What is its mission?

It is a joint military organization between the United States and Canada that is responsible for monitoring and defending the airspace of North America. NORAD uses radars, satellites, and other technology to track and identify potential threats, such as missiles or airplanes that might be entering North American airspace without authorization. In the event of an attack, NORAD coordinates with the appropriate military and civilian agencies to respond and mitigate the threat.
